 Blue Water Surrender

In 2013, I was fortunate enough to achieve a life long dream of going on an overseas mission trip.  Our church was going to Guatemala to love on the children at a children’s home, do some painting around the home, and experience the Guatemalan culture.  That first trip took root in the depths of my heart like nothing had before.  This was what life was all about.  After this trip, the world seemed much smaller.  My problems seemed small.  I began to want for nothing.  My eyes could not “unsee” all that I had seen and experienced.  God had changed my cold and hardened heart in a big way.  I had another purpose in life.  By the end of 2016, God had called me to go back 4 times.

Not only was I going to commit to going back each year, I was bound and determined to lead trips of friends and family, so they could experience a third world country up close and personal.  This is why Jesus mentions over and over to take care of the widows and orphans.  Why missions?  Because the Bible says in Matthew 25:40, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'”  The greatest commandment is to love one another.  It’s as simple as that.

Have you ever wanted to travel across the world and spend a week of your time loving on some of the most poor yet beautiful people on the planet?  2020 could be YOUR big year!  Our family has a great love for this Central American country and we love sharing it with others.  But don’t take just our word for it…

Coming soon, you will be able to click on the links above to hear about trip recaps, testimonies, pictures, and videos of the last 2 teams from Michigan that God has given me the pleasure of leading.  We work with Gail Gordon, an American from Florida who has started the non-profit organization Blue Water Surrender.  She has had a vision for starting a children’s home in Guatemala and recently got official licensing for a safe haven for children called Casa Agua Azul in the tiny village of Ensenada, near the tourist city of Rio Dulce.  Click on her link for more information.
