“The Seeing Eye”

  • I gave this to my mom because this picture with the big eye stopped her from watching tv and made her focus more on her first book because I hung it right in front of the tv!
  • Hebrews 4:13 – “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

 

 

   “3 Stories”

  • I painted this over 3 nights.  It shows when Jesus died on the cross, when Jesus is tempted on the mountain looking at the city, and creation (that’s a black spot where the moon should be because it hadn’t been created yet).
  • Mark 9:23 – “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

 

   “Apple Tree & Barren Tree”

  • The apple tree reminded me of my mom’s family tree and how it is growing in faith.
  • Proverbs 15:4 – “A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.”
  • The barren tree was reminding me of how my mom’s apple tree used to be dying.
  • 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

 

   “Differences”

  • This was painted over 2 nights and shows how one bird was full of love in a dark world and one bird is dark inside but surrounded by love.  He loves everyone.
  • Galatians 3:28 – “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you all one in Christ Jesus.”

 

    “Bread of Life”

  • I got the word “bread” but I felt I was supposed to draw a picture of Jesus coming back.  Then I found out my Grammy had met a new friend at a bread stand that loved Jesus and so I knew the painting was for her friend Jackie.
  • John 6:33 – “For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.”

 

   “Emotions of Life”

  • I have a hard time going back to school after the weekend and so this painting shows that even in my hardest times, God is my light.
  • Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path.”

 

    “My Heart is in Guatemala”

  • This painting shows that our heart is in Guatemala and it also means that we will never stop loving that country.
  • Mark 12:29-31 – “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.”

 

   “Our Family Shield”

  • My mom said she wanted to a shield for our house that told what people we were.
  • Psalm 28:7 – “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart exalts, and with my song I shall thank him.”

 

   “The Different Flower”

  • I made this to show my mom was a dead flower but now God is her soil and she is rich.
  • Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be buried, and the flame shall not consume you.”

 

   “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”

  • This painting means that whatever he looks like, he has the whole world in his hands.
  • Isaiah 49:16 – “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continuously before me.”
